March 15: Meals

I know I didn't post Friday or Saturday, sorry. So today I've not really eaten anything specific. I made two things to eat with lunch this week though so I pieced on those. I made my Dad's pasta salad and I created a new salsa, Black bean and avocado. You can find the recipe and picture here. I'll probably have some ice cream later. I've also had a Coke this morning. Peace out.

March 12: Meals

Well, today didn't go as well as I had wanted. Tonka was being a big fat pain in the ass and I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night due to yet another screw up at Walgreen's. Grr.. Anyway, moving on. For breakfast I had a banana. For lunch I ate some wheat thins and dinner was spaghetti. I'm happy tomorrow is Friday. I am so ready for the weekend. I just want to sleep in so badly. Peace out.

March 11: Meals

Well today went by quickly. It seems like only a few hours ago I was writing yesterday's post. So today, I didn't have any breakfast. That may have contributed to my crankiness. Maybe not though. For lunch I made pancakes and they didn't taste very good. I only ate half of one. For dinner we made swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes. They were really tasty. Prior to dinner my Dad made this awesome new salsa! It's a black-eyed pea veggie salsa. I posted the recipe on MyRecipology blog and you can find the recipe here. The salsa is the picture below. The photo turned out really weird. I took the picture on my the counter at my parents house and it looks like it's floating. Peace out.

March 10: Meals

Today, I had a chocolate instant shake for breakfast. I used skim milk. It's the only milk I can choke down. For lunch I ate some wheat thins. And for dinner I made beef tacos. See you tomorrow.

March 9: Meals

Woo! Two days in a row. Go me go! I feel like this 'at least one picture' thing is a lot more managable for me. So for breakfast I ate an apple, and it was a damn good apple. Good flavor and it wasn't the least bit mushy. I hate mushy apples. For lunch I made mac n cheese and it was so good. It was cold out today so I loved having something to warm me up. With lunch I also drank 1/2 a coke. For dinner I had a little bit of scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. And the only picture I got was of the bowl of mint chip ice cream I had a few minutes ago. I also drank about 1/2 cup of milk because my stomach was bothering me. And if you know me, you know my tummy had to have been really bothering me to drink milk. I hate milk. See you tomorrow.

Falling Behind Again..

Well, obviously this food and pictures thing isn't for me. However, I'd like to keep my goal of recording everything I eat (in addition to my other goals). So I'll start to write each thing that I eat, and I'll try to take a picture of at least one meal daily. So today, I ate an apple, cheese slices, and wheat thins. I also had a Coke to drink. And for dinner I had about 3/4 cup of white rice and chicken/broccoli casserole. I'm thinking some mint chip ice cream sounds good too so I may have some a bit later.

Dinner: I didn't take a picture of dinner, but it was delicious. Roast, mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. Yum. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Sorry

I'm sorry. Anyone that still reads this can see that I am losing interest. I have been taking pictures of my food actually, I just don't feel like putting together blog posts with them at the end of the day. But I am going to make more of an effort to get back into my routine of daily posts. I'm not on track with my book for this month either. I have more than 1/2 of the book left and I've got too many things to do tomorrow to think about reading it. But since I read 2 books last month, I'm not too disappointed.

I think Tonka has an ear infection and I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be this vet. He he. I'm also hoping to look through a house I am interested in renting. We'll see if that happens. A move might be in my future. Well, it's late so I'll see you tomorrow. Later today actually.

February 22: Meals

I'm pretty sure I am coming down with a cold. This morning I woke up and my throat feels like it's closing up and my ears are totally full of fluid. And the cough started this afternoon. I haven't had much of an appetite, but here's what I've eaten today.

Breakfast: Vanilla yogurt, granola, almonds, and coconut
Drink: Banana Slurpee
(I didn't take a picture of this, sorry)

February 20: Meals

Today went pretty well. My headache wasn't too bad at all, but my tailbone was really bothering me all day. I probably slept wrong or something. I've been told that once you've broken your tailbone it bothers you the rest of your life. Mine only hurts if I sit for a while, like a ball games or when I'm driving. I can't believe it's been a year since I slipped and broke mine. Time goes faster and faster as I get older. Anyway, here is what I ate.
Breakfast: Vanilla yogurt with granola and

Lunch: Cheese quesadilla, chili Frito's, 1 glass of sparkly water

My sister and I are staying at the hotel she works at. We do this often. We order room service, just hang out and watch movies. It's nice because hotels have all of the movies that are in theaters (or were recently in theaters) and we get to watch them and then she takes the charges off our bill! He he. Anyway, I had a ham and cheese omlet, which I ate about 1/3 of. It wasn't very good. I also had a side of hashbrowns and I ate a few of Holli's fries.

February 16: Dinner

My Mom made what we call "Beef O'lay's" for dinner tonight. Yum! It's kind of like a taco salad. Kinda. First you start with Fritos's. Then you put a small layer of chili and then cheese. Next, you add lettuce, tomato, and then top it off with a dabble of sour cream. Sometimes we add avacados or guacamole.

I'm going to start logging my exercise on my posts as well. It has been a while since I exercised on a regular basis, and I have to build up slowly otherwise my knees start acting up and then I stop all together. So tonight's stuff was a little impromptu and I didn't have my knee braces, but it's a start.

Exercise:
Cardio : 21 minutes (walking Marley)
Squats: 30
Toe Raises: 30
Stretching: 5 minutes

February 16: Lunch

Helloo. I have had a relaxing morning so far, I did a few blog posts on my daily blog and watched a few episodes of Prison Break. Lunch was quick. I burned my finger on the pan when I was flipping the tortilla though, damn pan jumped out and got me. I had a cheese quasadilla and a small bowl of chilli fritos. In the other bowl is salsa and a dabble of sour cream. I also had a glass of black cherry sparkly water.
Cheese quasadilla, Chilli Fritos, salsa and sour cream

Sparkly Water

February 16: Breakfast

Good morning! I made President's Day pancakes for breakfast and they were pretty tasty! I also had a strawberry yogurt and water. I took the picture before I filled my glass, but it eventually had water in it. Because it's a holiday I gave Tonka a can of wet dog food too. If he keeps eating like this he'll have to go on a diet soon. Ha ha.

I'm back!

Hi blog friends and stalkers! Okay, I know I was absent longer than I had anticipated, but now I'm back! I had a fabulous dinner party tonight with my family and here are a few pictures. I made beef tacos with refried beans and mexican rice. I ate 3/4 of a taco and about 3 strawberries. I also had one glass of sparkling cider. Even Tonka got a treat tonight with a meal of canned dog food. And from the looks of it, he thoroughly enjoyed it and is now sound asleep at my feet.

And just to get back in the groove of recording my meals, for breakfast I ate a peach Activa yogurt. I didn't take a picture though. And I skipped lunch because I wanted to be extra hungry for my fabulous dinner party!

Also, I am doing well with my other goals. I am a little behind on my book for this month, but I hope to finish it before the 28th! I've been flossing everyday and drinking more water as well.

I've also decided to add an additional bi-weekly goal to my list. I am going to add a new recipe to My Recipology blog at least once every 2 weeks. For those that do not know, My Recipology, is a blog of recipes that I make. I started it months ago, but haven't made much of an effort to keep it up to date. I updated it this evening with the chocolate strawberries and while they are pretty much self explainatory, I like to record even the simple things I make. So check it out!

Taco fixings: Iceberg lettuce, flour tortillas, ground beef, mexican rice,
refried beans, tomatoes, avacado, cheddar cheese

Dessert: Chocolate covered strawberries

Tonka's meal: Serloin beef dinner and busy bone

Weekend Goals

I missed another day of pictures, yeah, yeah, I know. Get over it. I'll be back with pictures Monday. But I thought I would post a few very short term goals. Just stuff I need to get finished this weekend.

1. Scour the bathroom
2. Wash all of the bedding
3. Gather and photograph all of Tonka's too small puppy clothes to sell
4. Do my taxes

February 5: No post..again

Sorry. I am still very nauseous and haven't had anything to eat but Sprite and saltine crackers today. I didn't take any pictures of those. But since there are few people reading this blog, I don't think anyone will be too disappointed. I've just been laying in my bed all day watching Will & Grace and reading a bit of this month's book, Nineteen Minutes. It is pretty good so far, thanks Holli for recommending it. I hope to return tomorrow sans queasy stomach and pictures of tasty food. Goodnight.

February 4: No Post

I've felt rather nauseous for the last few hours and the thought of looking at pictures of the food I ate today makes me quite pukey. I ate breakfast and lunch but no dinner. I'll catch up tomorrow.

Dinner: Leftover lasagna, 3-bean salad, bread

Snack: Banana slurpee. I am always in the mood for these. Always.

February 1: Dinner

After finishing my post earlier and starting some laundry, I headed to my parents house for dinner. My Mom made something new, lasagna rolls and it was really good. She put the lasagna fixings on the bottom of the pan and then rolled the noodles with the cheeses. We also had 3-bean salad. I could not take a very good picture of this meal, so it doesn't look very good. But I promise you it tasted awesome.

Sorry

I know I have missed posts for the last few days. I'll quickly recap. Friday, I ate pretty well. Apple and english muffin for breakfast, chicken melt sandwhich for lunch, and goolash for dinner. I spent the night at the hotel with Holli Friday night and we watched The House Bunny. I love that movie, it was so funny. Saturday I felt sick most of the day and only ate a granola bar in the morning. That night Holli, Kacee, and I went to the Covey Center for Arts and watched Center Stage's Evolution of Dance. It was AWESOME! I miss dancing and cheer so much!

Afterward, I was pretty hungry from not eating all day and Holli and I stopped at Denny's. I had a piece of french toast, hot chocolate, and scrambled eggs. So now I'm all caught up. So far today I've had this:

Breakfast: English muffin with jam

January 29: Meals

Today was a pretty good day for me. I woke up with a minimal headache and got a lot of things finished at work. The most exciting part was I got everything squared away with AT&T, a problem I have been fighting for 3 months. You can read about that issue here. So I worked and then ate dinner with my family. Came home and played with Tonka and then went to the store, for groceries. Go me go. Here's what I ate today:

Breakfast: Honey Bunches of Oats w/skim milk

Lunch: Tuna melt on onion bagel (I was out of bread), pickle,
mandarin oranges

Dinner:Biscuits & gravy, french toast, juice

Snack: Handful of trailmix

January Book Review: The Late Bloomer's Revolution

The Late Bloomer's Revolution, by Amy Cohen, is the 2nd book I've finished this month. I have to say I was quite disappointed with this one. I originally came across it in an article I read on MSNBC. I can't find the article now, but included in it was a complete chapter of the book. It kept my attention, I laughed and I could relate. It left me wanting to read more and a few days later I bought the book.

The Late Bloomer's Revolution is the story of a New York City girl, Amy Cohen, who's life turns out completely different than she plans. She feels as if Life has left her behind. She is in her late 30's, single, and recently lost her job as a TV writer. The story is mostly of her dating life and the ups and downs. But it also discusses how she handles her mother's passing away and finding new employment. There were times I related with her in the book, mostly with her dating frustrations and how she tries to relate to her married friends. But the remainder of the book I just wanted to slap her silly. It's so depressing. There is one chapter in which she goes on and on about riding a bike and how when she was young she went to a 'biking birthday party' but she didn't know how to actually ride a bike and she falls down. Blah. I think the saddest part is that the book is based on the author's life. I mean we all get down sometimes, I totally understand that, I've expressed my frustrations with life on my personal blog on more than one occassion. But, come on. I really struggled to finish this one.

My expectations were probably too high for this book and that is the reason I didn't care for it. Although, I'm guessing there are many women out there that could really relate and would thoroughly enjoy it. I would give this book a 2 on a scale of 1-5. It just wasn't for me I guess.

Since I've finished this book way ahead of schedule I supposed my next book, Nineteen Minutes, will be my official February book. And it's a longer one (480 pages) so it will probably take me the whole month to finish! Now I just have to remember to borrow it from my sister.

January 27: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today started out nice. I woke up and my headache wasn't as bad as most mornings, but it started to get worse this afternoon. Boo. Anyway, it seems like my stomach was growling most of the day so here is what I had:
Breakfast: 2 slices of whole wheat toast with butter

Lunch: Salad and 1/2 onion bagel

Snack: Luna bar

Dinner: Chicken fajitas, rice, and beans

Monday, January 26, 2009

January 26: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Lunch: Salad w/scoop of tuna and Dr. Pepper (I drank 1/2)

Dinner: Macaroni & Cheese

Sunday, January 25, 2009

January 25: Dinner

I didn't have a very big appetite this evening so I just had a bowl of potatoes and a Coke. Also, I finished my current book yesterday, The Late Bloomers Revolution. It was only okay and I'll do a review on it soon. Oh and it's still snowing and I still hate it. :) Night!

Dinner: Rosemary potatoes

January 25: Breakfast & Lunch

This morning started out different than I had originally planned. I wanted get up first thing and walk around this track near my house with Tonka. I really wanted to. I even laid clothes out last night. See-
But when I looked out the window this morning I found the scene below. Ha. Yeah right. We'll go on a long walk another day.

Breakfast: Instant Breakfast and a handful of cranberry/almond trail mix.

Lunch: Salad with a scoop of tuna
